Sonam
Dendu
Sherpa summited Everest on
May 24th, 1989 via the standard South East Ridge route while on the American
led by
Pete
Athans. In 1990, 91, 93, and 94 he repeated his summit via the
standard South East Ridge route to give him 5 Summits of Everest. |
Sonam Dendu Sherpa was born in 1962,
and lives in Tinkune, Boudha, Kathmandu, Nepal. In addition to his 5
Everest Summits, he reached over 8000 meter on Makalu and Summited a
few times, and Shishapangma Central Summit at 8013m height
in 2000, plus Ama Dablam Summit (two times). His summit with the
Greek
Shishapangma Autumn 2000 expedition was reported in
EverestNews.com at the time.

Three Greek climbers from the Greek Shishapangma Autumn 2000
expedition reached the Central Summit of Shishapangma on October
4th at 10:30 in the morning along with two Sherpa climbers. "We
were there the same time with four members of the Korean
expedition and we have pictures with them. Our Sherpa were Mr.
Sonam Dendu and Kanchha Nuru from Thamserku trekking company."
