The Sherpas of Everest Series: Nima Rita Sherpa 1958-1999

Nima Rita Sherpa summited Everest 4 times, including once without oxygen and once via the west ridge! His first was via the standard South East Ridge route on October 14th, 1988 on the Spanish without the use of bottled oxygen!!! Next he summited via the West Ridge with the South Korean expedition on Oct 23, 1989. Followed by 2 more ascents of the via the standard south east ridge route on May 15, 1995 with the Hoffman expedition and on May 20th, 1998 at 40 years old again with a Hoffman expedition. He died in 1999.

He is from Namche, Thame, Solukhumbu.
