EverestHistory.com: Rudy Van Snick


Reached the summit of Everest Climbed Everest on the 10th of May 1990 (with Rob Hall, Gary Ball and Peter Hillary) after having tried two times, the first one during the Belgian Everest Winter Expedition in 1988 and the 2nd time in 1989 as member of the American Everest Expedition. 

Born 6th. February 1956 in Zottegem Belgium

Rudy Van Snick was sponsored by various important Belgian companies under the leadership and logistic support of the BELGIAN HIMALAYAN CLUB of which was Herman Detienne the President. 

Rudy Van Snick has also climbed all 7 summits. Rudy Van Snick is still working as expedition and trekking leader with the " ANDERS REIZEN" company in Belgium. In January 2001 he will lead a new expedition to " Aconcagua ". He reached the summit of Aconcagua already 12 times. Mount McKinley : 4 times, Mt Vinson Antarctica : 3 times, Kilimanjaro : 12 times, Mt Elbrus : 6 times.
