EverestHistory.com: Sergei Penzov

Sergei Penzov summited Everest May 14, 1992 via the standard South East Ridge route. He was born in Kalinin, Russia on April,19th 1950. He holds the official sporting status of master of sports, international class, snow leopard. He started climbing mountains in 1970. He summited 7,000m peaks of former USSR 14 times. Sergi graduated from the Bauman Institute, Moscow, specializing in rocket fuel! As of 1996, he was teaching information technologies in the secondary school system.

Sergei Penzov also is a Marathoner. In 1996, he ranked third in the world in a rapid 7000 meter peak climbing.

Sergei summited K2 via the North ridge on 8/14/96!
