He reached the summit of Everest on May 12th, 1992. Reached the summit of Mount Everest in 1992 together with Ronald Naar. He first attempted Everest in 1984. Previously to his summit of Everest, he summitted Jannu (7710 meter) via the North face in October 1987. In July 1995 he participated in the Dutch K2  expedition but did not summit.
