Greg
Wilson is an experienced mountaineer and guide who's career spans more than 20
years and includes ascents of some of the world's tallest mountain. According
to his parents Greg was a climber from early on. If it was scaleable young
Greg would find a way to the top. It's a streak of daring that would serve him
well over the years.A
good portion of Greg's climbing has been done in South America. Guiding to
Mexican volcanoes in 1977 and an expedition to Cordillera Blanca (Peru) in
1978 sparked his interest in climbing and guiding in South America. Greg went
on to participate in over 75 expeditions to many South American peaks (among
others) including Argentina (including 18 expeditions to 6,962-meter
Aconcagua), Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. He has also climbed various
peaks in Alaska, Antarctica, Mexico, Nepal, Russia and Tibet.
Greg was a guide for Rainier
Mountaineering, Inc, for 10 years, during which he summited Mt. Rainier over
100 times. He began guiding internationally in 1983 with International
Mountain Guides. In 1989 Greg made on of his highest ascents when he scaled
Kangchenjunga, the third tallest mountain in the world at 8,586-meters. He has
been on four expeditions to Everest and reached the summit in 1991. Greg would
reach the summit a second time in 2001 as part of the IMG Everest South Side
expedition.
