Ivan T. Dusharin
summited Everest May 12, 1992 via the standard South East Ridge
route. Ivan was the leader of the Russian North ridge K2
expedition in 1996 where Carlos
Buhler, Sergei Penzov and
Igor Benkin reached the Summit. Igor died
on descent.

Ivan was born in
Togliatti, Russia in November, 1947. Ivan holds the official
sporting status of master of sports, international class, snow
leopard. He started climbing in 1964 and has summited 7000 meters
peaks of former USSR 19 times. He has also summited Mont Blanc
(1985), Aconcagua (1991, twice), and McKinley (1995). Ivan is an
engineer-designer and as of 1996 was the head of a robot design
bureau.
