Ciluo, from China, summited Everest on May 24, 1998.  He climbed the standard North East Ridge route used today. He was a student China University of Geosciences or CUG (Wuhan) which originated from Beijing Geological College, as a result of the merger of the geological departments (or faculties) from Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Tianjin University and Tangshan Railway College, at the time.
