EverestHistory.com: Pertemba Sherpa

Pertemba Sherpa summited Everest on September 26th, 1975 via the South West Face route on the British expedition led by Chris Bonington. He reached the summit again on October 1, 1979 via the standard south east ridge route. His third summit came on April 21st, 1985 via the standard south east ridge route on the Norwegian lead by Arne Naess. He is from Khumjung, Solukhumbu and was considered the leading Sherpa climber during his time...

He was 27 when he first summited Everest. At 49 he summited Manaslu on October 8th, 1997, 22 years later. He currently runs Nepal Himal Treks in KTM.
